As Green Day begins to prepare for their giant tour around the globe, and ahead of their new album coming in early February, they have to be excited. With a new sound that steers further away from their punk beginning, While we don’t know what Father of All… will ultimately sound like, the pop leanings of their latest single “Oh Yeah!” could help you figure that out.
While the video is comical at times and it seems to be a take on our staring at our phones culture, the song might not be what you’d expect. A bit more anthemic and full of top end production, the group vocals in the chorus are nice but don’t really sound like the band. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s more pop than pop punk.
The video can be viewed on YouTube of above. The songs is ready to stream on all platforms. Father Of All… is available for preorder directly from Warner Records ahead of its February 07 release. Green Day will be on the road starting March 08 in Singapore at Singapore Indoor Stadium until August 29 in Philadelphia, PA at Citizens Bank Park. The band’s complete tour routing is accessible here.
