As far as new artists go, we’re pretty excited about the upcoming full length by Squirrel Flower. Bookmarked with well arranged songs and vocals that pull you in, her latest single “Streetlight Blues” off of I Was Born Swimming is pretty magnetic. While the album isn’t due until the end of the month, this song should get you to preorder your own copy.

The song has a nice bluesy tone that gets cut with her heavenly vocals. While the stride offers a notation of tenderness, there’s plenty of heft in the words that will tug at your heart when you hear them. The earnest tone of the vocals sound poetic and meaningful, even without knowing the meaning behind them. The guitar that swells among the drums creates a sound that you just have to adore.

I Was Born Swimming is ready to be preordered in multiple bundles and on various formats directly from Polyvinyl Records before its January 31 release. Squirrel Flower will be on tour beginning January 28 in London, UK at The Islington until April 11 in Montreal, Canada at Casa Del Popolo. Her complete tour is available here.
