At the end of this week, Matt Pond PA will release A Collection of Bees,Part 1. The rarities within the release include plenty of songs you ma be familiar with, but recorded differently than the originals were. Keeping in line with that, their latest drop is an acoustic version of the 2013 single “Starlet,” now featuring vocals from Anya Marina alongside.

This version has a bit more beauty in that the additional vocals compliment the acoustic so well. By performing acoustically, there’s a kindness here that seems to be lost from the original. The tonal qualities of the two vocals and the folksy demeanor of the song’s stride make it hard to walk away from, and easy to like.
