For a while now, the Spain based music of HINDS has been something that like most people, I’ve found alluring and worth digging into. With two records in the can, the band has successfully toured the globe like it’s no big deal. In recent years, they’ve begun to shed their garage rock sound for a more hook based direction. Now with a new album The Prettiest Curse announced for releases in April, the band has just dropped their catchiest track yet with “Good Bad Times.”
The song has a more pop sheen to it, offering a broader sound than you may expect. While the band is still playing traditional instruments, the song is full of hooks and catchy vocals that sparkle as soon as you hear them. The bass seems to help drive the track alongside the drums, while a neo-disco meets indie pop vibe plays throughout. The video has plenty of comical parts, including each member being a super hero complete with super powers and a painted face.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. The song can be streamed on all streaming sites. The Prettiest Curse is ready to be preordered directly from Mom+Pop Records in multiple formats and bundles ahead of its April 03 release. HINDS is on tour beginning April 13 at Chalk in Brighton, UK until June 17 at Webster Hall in New York, NY. All of their tour dates and the presale for the U.S. dates requires a code that’s accessible here.
