It seems like New York’s Big Thief is a band that can’t be stopped. After releasing two full length albums last year and two lengthy tours, the band just keeps adding to their list of accomplishments. The other night the band stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the song “Shoulders,” and the result is as amazing as you’d expect.
Like always, the band brings enough energy to explode a television. Between the charismatic playing of Buck Meek and the vocal strengths or Adrianne Lenker, the band gives an emotionally charged performance. Almost as if there’s a tension, the bounds from within how the band sways and moves alone creates a visual aesthetic that many who’ve never seen the band live will experience. It’s unencumbered and beautiful in how it plays out.
The video for the performance can be seen above or on YouTube. U.F.O.F. and Two Hands are both ready to be purchased physically directly from 4AD Records. They can also be streamed on all streaming sites or purchased in all digital outlets. Big Thief is on tour starting February 17 in Lisboa, Portugal at LAV until September 03 in Salisbury, UK at End of the Road Festival. Their complete tour routing is located here.
