Carly Rae Jepsen is doing a great job of pushing out singles that pop and sparkle. In a time when artists are dumping albums left and right, Jepsen seems to have the singles game figured out. On her latest drop “Let’s Be Friends” she gets personal while still holding your attention from beginning to end.

Coupled with pop structure and an acoustic strum, Jepsen takes the lead with catchy melody on this new track. The song is straight pop that works from the jump. The hook pulls you in while Jepsen takes plenty of weight in the doubled vocals. The intertwined notes of beat versus upbeat synths creates a sound that’s infectious and seems heartfelt.
