Caroline Rose Swoons on New Single

In the grand scheme of music, there are acts that excite you with their sounds so much that you’re excited for what they’ll do next. For an artist like Caroline Rose, we’d say that’s how we see the singer songwriter. Eschewing her earlier sound of folky pop tinged songs, Rose completely reinvented her sound with her last full length, Loner. Now with a new album Superstar set for release in early March, Rose has just dropped a new song “Freak Like Me” and new tour dates that should excite any fan of her sound.

The song has a very unassuming sound. In many ways it has a florid tone, where the song blossoms as it gets going. With a catchy beat and keys paralleled, Rose sings in a soft and tender timbre. The backing vocals add a nice airy weight while varying synths dance behind the vocals like ghostly apparitions. The hook comes with the piano keys that draw you in as Rose covers a tale of love that doesn’t fit the norms. The chill and relaxed way the song paces along keeps it in your head well after you hear it, while offering a different vibe from Rose.

“Freak Like Me” can be streamed above or on all streaming sites. Superstar is ready for preorder directly from New West Records on multiple formats and bundles before its March 06 release. Caroline Rose will be on tour beginning March 06 in Albany, NY at The Hollow Bar+Kitchen until June 27 in Los Angeles, CA at Troubadour. Her complete tour schedule is accessible here.
