The DIY sounds of Brooklyn’s THICK have been prepping for a new album for a minute now. With the new record 5 Years Behind coming in early March, the band just dropped a new single “Bumming Me Out” as well as a new video. What you’ll find is that the song intermingles with indie rock in the catchiest way possible without burning off the band’s punk rock cred in the process.
The slumber party vibe of the video falls in line with how the band has become known. With a snappy pacing and a distorted guitar tone, the song is pretty catchy from open to close. The verse has that sound that draws you in before the hooks of the chorus will have you bopping your head. The band switches between rhythmic riffs and a catchy stride that places the song in your head well after you hear it. The vocals have their own hook here, making the song more memorable.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. “Bumming Me Out” can be streamed on all streaming sites. 5 Years Behind is ready to be preordered in multiple formats and bundles directly from Epitaph Records ahead of its March 06 release date. THICK is on tour starting April 11 in Berkeley, CA at The UC Theatre Taube Family Music Hall until May 07 in New York, NY at Warsaw. Their complete tour routing is accessible here.
