For a while now we’ve been covering British sensation Cavetown. When his first run of US tour dates sold out immediately, we knew he was bigger than most up and coming acts. After another successful run of primarily sold out touring, and drops of multiple singles, the youthful artist is back with a new song “Sweet Tooth” from his long-awaited new album Sleepyhead coming in March.
The song has a higher production value without stripping his core sound. The dual vocals make for a bit more heft while the song embodies a more rock pop tone. The way the song is scored showcases growth in the singer songwriter’s sound, though it ultimately sounds like his earlier work in overall tone. The gentle touch in the vocals mixed with how the song has a wind down in progression gives you an idea of what the full length will ultimately sound like.
The song can be streamed on all streaming sites or purchased in all digital outlets. Sleepyhead is ready for preorder directly from Sire Records before its March 27 release date. Cavetown is on tour starting February 20 in Dublin, Ireland at The Academy Dublin until July 11 in London, UK at Finsbury Park. His complete tour schedule is available here.
