When Ice-T debuted his metal rap act Body Count, the establishment in America didn’t seem too pleased. Thirty years later, the band may get just as chilly of a reception from the same group of people. With a new album Carnivore set for release in early March, the group has just dropped a new track called “Bum-Rush” that is like an anthem for the downtrodden.
With thick riffs and Ice-T dropping rhymes above the metal infused sound, the song has the makings of something larger. The lyrics are just as relevant as the band’s words when they began. The message is the same, the sound is just as harsh and the music is as catchy as it’s ever been. The video of the band taking over a television station bookmarked with violent imagery and the band performing between shots of hackers.
The video can be watched above or on YouTube. Carnivore is ready to be preordered from Century Media on multiple formats and bundles ahead of its March 06 release. Body Count will be on tour beginning March 15 in New York, NY at Webster Hall until July 04 in Herouville-saint-clair, France at Chateau de Beauregard. The band’s complete tour schedule is located here.
