Drug Church Continues to Impress Live

As far as live bands go, We’ve caught Albany’s Drug Church three times now and have yet to be disappointed. Their album Cheer is one of the best records out there. While we went to this latest show for Drug Church, we were in a space that wasn’t ideal for these guys to tear it up.

Touring with Thrice and MeWithoutYou, the crowd felt divided to say the least. The Thrice fans in black jeans with neck beards, the MeWithoutYou fans looking like hipster accountants, it was a weird scene. But aside from the crowd, those who came for the New York band weren’t upset at all. Between banter on how to head bang and playing their latest single “Bliss Out,” the band came and showed why they were there.

You can stream Cheer on all streaming platforms or purchase it in all digital outlets. You can also purchase it in bundles and physical formats from Pure Noise Records. Drug Church is on tour in Brisbane, Australia April 30 at The Tivoli until May 30 in Stroudsburg, PA at Sherman Theater. The band’s tour dates can be accessed here

David Garrick

David Garrick has spent the last five years interviewing some of the most intriguing and engaging artists performing today. Everyone from Angel Olsen to Phoebe Bridgers, Wire to Yo La Tengo, Snail Mail to Soccer Mommy, Ghost to First Aid Kit, The Breeders to Protomartyr, and many more. He's a giant fan of music of pretty much any genre; but especially to the underdogs. He's been known to see more concerts in a week than many people will see in a year.
