Muzz Featuring Paul Banks of Interpol Releases New Single

If the past tells us anything, Paul Banks can’t sit still no matter what’s happening. With Interpol done with touring for now, his new project Muzz featuring Josh Kaufman and Matt Barrick should take you to a whole new place. Spacious in its sound, their new single “Broken Tambourine” has enough elements that it’s difficult to place the project into any one genre.

Where Muzz is distinct is how they structure this song. Open and airy, the piano they kicks off the song teeters on a bit before the song picks up pace. When the drums come in and Banks’ vocals come in, the song takes on a new life. Like a dissonant journey, the track has a weight through the instrumentation that keeps your attention while Banks sounds more introspective than you may think. The song is beautifully crafted without being too arty in the process.

The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. “Broken Tambourine” can be streamed on all platforms or purchased in all digital outlets via Matador Records.
