For a while now, most people who’ve heard the tender vocals of Austin’s Jess Williamson have been amazed by her sound. Now with a new album Sorceress due in May, Williamson has released the second pre-release single. What you’ll immediately notice about “Infinite Scroll” is how laid back yet powerful the song sounds.
The song intertwines a seventies gaze with Williamson’s soft voice. The earnestness in the track has the touches of acts like Carly Simon and Carole King without really ripping from either. Williamson finds a way through it all to put you at ease while directing the track into your recent memory. The video, of a bride running from the alter as quickly as possibly gives the song a bit of visual narrative, though the track stands on its own with or without it.
The video can be viewed on YouTube or above. The single is ready to stream on all platforms. Sorceress can be preordered directly from Mexican Summer on multiple formats ahead of its May 15 release date. Jess Williamson is scheduled to tour beginning June 02 at Bootleg Bar in Los Angeles, CA until June 29 at Exo Bar in Tucson, AZ. The dates are subject to change due to COVID-19. Her complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
