The Sword Return With New Tour & Two Compilations

After two years away, Austin’s The Sword is back and ready to rule. The four piece that added their Texan stamp on metal has not only announced a large scale tour with Primus, Wolfmother and Battles, but they’ve decided two release two career spanning compilations. The first,  Conquest of Kingdoms is a collection of rarities, covers and unreleased tracks. The second, Chronology 2006-2018 is a three disc box covering the band’s career with studio recordings and twelve unreleased songs of the fifty-two total.

From the compilation Conquest of Kingdoms, the band has shared an unreleased live version of the classic “Freya” off of the debut album. The song was recorded at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin in 2011.

Both compilations Conquest of Kingdoms and Chronology 2006-2018 are ready to preorder from Craft Recordings before their release on June 08. The Sword is set to begin touring June 04 in Tampa, FL at The Orpheum Tampa until July 12 at The Ready Room in St. Louis, MO. Their tour dates are available here. Due to COVID-19, these dates are subject to change.

David Garrick

David Garrick has spent the last five years interviewing some of the most intriguing and engaging artists performing today. Everyone from Angel Olsen to Phoebe Bridgers, Wire to Yo La Tengo, Snail Mail to Soccer Mommy, Ghost to First Aid Kit, The Breeders to Protomartyr, and many more. He's a giant fan of music of pretty much any genre; but especially to the underdogs. He's been known to see more concerts in a week than many people will see in a year.
