A couple of years ago, one of our writers interviewed Max Clarke of the band Cut Worms, and relayed the goodness in Clarke’s heart towards music. The Brooklyn based artist was at the time supporting his last full length while opening for Band of Horses. While Cut Worms has always been a project that falls across multiple genres in terms of sound, their new single “Castle In The Clouds” has plenty of Americana tone and twang to capture the ears of anyone who hears it.
With plenty of charm in its delivery, “Castle In The Clouds” has lots of country tones and indie folk graces. Clarke sounds refreshed here as if he’s channeling singer songwriters of the past while moving the needle forward. Almost like a modern touch on cowboy tinged indie folk, Cut Worms sounds better here than they have in years. The video looks like something from a sci-fi film while the song gives you plenty of mosey to put a spring into your step.
Feel free to watch the video above as much as you’d like. The single can be streamed on all streaming services or purchased in all digital outlets.
