Margo Price has never really followed the rules of the music industry, which may be why she still has a blossoming career. Over the years she’s captivated audiences with her heartfelt demeanor and gut wrenching honesty. With her new album That’s How Rumors Get Started set for release in July, her new single “Letting Me Down” should delight her old fans while earning her new ones as well.
While the song was written by Price and her husband Jeremy Ivey, the song co-produced by Sturgill Simpson has a sparkle to it. With plenty of guitar swagger, the quick pace of the track shows how Price’s vocals still sound extraordinary at a quick stride. There’s a nice simplicity to the track that allows Price’s voice to be the focal point, while the instrumentation still provides lush tones. The video looks like a dreamlike version of a day in the life of one person.
The video can be viewed above while the song is available to stream wherever you stream music. That’s How Rumors Get Started is available to preorder on multiple formats and bundles directly from Loma Vista Recordings ahead of its July 10 release.
