New Single by The Texas Gentlemen Transcends Country

It’s not a new thing for a band to expand their sound, in fact that’s truly what good bands do. While Texas’ The Texas Gentlemen weren’t a typical country band on their debut album, they weren’t running from the stamp either. Now with a new album Floor It!!! out next week the five piece is taking a much more curated approach, and their latest single “Easy St.” sounds pretty far from their country past.

Opening with a honky tonk piano and tons of instrumentation, the song is closer to Western Swing if it were made by Fleetwood Mac than anything else. The piano is the driver here, with soft harmonic vocals and well matched backing vocals. The way the guitar blends with the strings, the happy-go-lucky stride of the track and the heavily orchestrated sounds deliver the words so eloquently into your ears that you remember every word. Even the guitar work here is magical, though the way it all comes together proves the band is head and shoulders ahead of their former selves.

The song can be heard above or on all streaming platforms. Floor It!!! is available for preorder on varying formats and bundles from New West Records before its July 17 release.
