Bob Mould Searches For Answers on New Single

For his entire career, Bob Mould has been nothing if not honest. From his youth in Husker Du to his time leading nineties alt rock outfit Sugar, Mould has displayed plenty of reverence and straightforward music. In his years as a solo artist we’ve seen him ask for answers sometimes with no finality. On His new single “Forecast of Rain” from his upcoming album Blue Hearts, he searches for the why behind the church’s support of our current president.

Opting for his big electric sound, Mould’s vocals and searing licks start things off. With a blend of instrumentation, the electric guitar takes hold with Mould’s words cutting through. Bob Mould sounds as contemporary as ever here while still holding his own sound intact. The lyric video stems between images of Mould singing and images of varying objects and lyrics. It’s definitely the side of his sound you like best, where he’s asking all of the right questions in a time where we should all be asking as well.

The video is ready to stream above or on YouTube. Blue Hearts is available for preorder directly from Merge Records ahead of its release on September 25. Bob Mould is scheduled to begin touring on November 13 in Stoughton, WI at the Stoughton Opera House until November 22 in Kalamazoo, MI at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. His complete tour schedule is available here. Due to COVID-19, these dates are subject to change or reschedule.
