A band as iconic and influential as The Flaming Lips can do pretty much whatever they want at this point in their storied career. The band has kind of done it all yet still continues to mystify those who’ve followed their trajectory. With a new album American Head coming in September, their new single “You n Me Sellin’ Weed” offers a more orchestral tone to their already engaging sound.
Taking a more somber tone, the song is delicate while not being fragile. There’s touches that feel like a ballad, yet the orchestral tones come in and open the song up like a flower in bloom. The electronics added alongside the dual vocals add weight, while the guitar and backing vocals lift the track up The video features Wayne Coyne riding in a car as the world goes by at fifty miles per hour.

The Flaming Lips are scheduled to begin touring January 25 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA until August 20-22, 2021 at Psycho Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.
