Cut Worms Drops Two New Songs & Announces Double Album

Brooklyn’s Max Clarke has come a long way since starting off under the moniker Cut Worms. While his last album Hollow Ground from 2018 was a well oiled machine created by true song craft, that doesn’t mean it was his swan song either. Now the follow up to that album has emerged under the name Nobody Lives Here Anymore, and it should be a sprawling array of Americana songbook tracks and jangled indie rock tunes. While the over eighty minute double album won’t be available until October, the first two singles from it are out today.

On “Sold My Soul” Clarke soaks up the South and adds a myriad of twang filled notes and adds a distanced vocal to craft a magical tone. Between the pedal steel and the upbeat pacing, Clarke wastes no time in delving into the charm of Tennessee where the song was recorded. Leering towards a more country sound, the song showcases Clarke’s songwriting abilities while forwarding his well honed skills of song arrangement as well.

“God Bless The Day” has a honky tonk piano that rolls like it’s entertaining the atmosphere around Bourbon Street. Clarke is in a higher spirit here, again with distanced vocals yet the mood is more sunny. Touching in a space between sixties British rock and American faire, the happy-go-lucky pace gives way to these incredible structures that soothe your ears and touch your heart.

Both song are ready to stream on all streaming platforms. Nobody Lives Here Anymore is ready to be preordered directly from Jagjaguwar Records ahead of its October 09 release. It can also be presaved in all digital outlets.
