The Sword Reveals Live Quarantine Video Series

Austin’s The Sword aren’t letting lockdown keep them from performing. With a tour next year with Primus coming, they’ve been dropping music via their own Conquest of Quarantine Lockdown Sessions. With three video of the performances total, the first two in the series are definitely knockouts.

With “Winter’s Wolves” off the band’s debut album, things sound as fresh as when the band performed the song prior to the album’s release. The riffs are tight and the band sounds as on point as ever in this version. The song’s heavy notes and thunderous drums still work on every level while the vocals pierce through the veil just like almost fifteen years ago when it was released.

For the first song of the series the band covered the T Rex classic “Children of The Revolution.” By adding a more metal touch to the song, it rings heavier and more meaty without losing the glamour that Mark Bolan brought to the song. While the song was already iconic, The Sword’s touch could just as easily be considered its successor with just enough metallic touch to make it sound modern.

Both videos can be watched above or on YouTube. Conquest of Kingdoms and Chronology 2006-2018 are available to purchase from Craft Recordings. The Sword will be on tour beginning June 09, 2021 in Houston, TX at Bayou Music Centre until July 19 at PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, OH. Their complete tour schedule is available here
