For a good while we’ve been fans of the tender notes created by Kentucky’s Tomberlin. While we’ve eagerly awaited for news of a new release, that day has ended. With a new EP titled Projections coming in October, her lead single “Wasted” should delight anyone who hears it. Alongside a video directed by Busy Phillipps, it’s a package that only the singer songwriter can deliver and deliver she does.

The soft guitar that begins the song pairs well with the video’s narrative of wonder. Tomberlin’s vocals stroll in and offer a calming tone backed by a beat that seems playful and open. The dual vocals hone in on your senses while pulling you in closer and closer before strings hauntingly play underneath. It all works and displays the growth of the artist between this project and the previous release.
