Ever since we first heard the music of Bristol’s Fenne Lily we’ve been impressed to say the least. Mixing a tenderness in with indie rock tones, her music has abilities few can achieve in the indie rock world. With a new album BREACH coming in the middle of September, her new single “Solipsism” and the subsequent video for it will hold your attention from start to finish.
The indie rock guitar that swells and mixes distorted notes pairs well with the drums that sound like they’re coming from down a hallway. The vocals lay balanced among the notes, creating an almost shoegaze tone in their delivery. The harmonic touches that flow in from the keys add that nice Brit pop sound that made the nineties so lovable, yet this sound is its own. The video is vibrant and creative while adding plenty of insular imagery that works perfectly with the song’s overall sound.
The video can be watched above or on YouTube. The single is ready to stream on all streaming sites. BREACH can be preordered on various formats from Dead Oceans ahead of its September 18 release.
