Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz has always made music in a manner that works best for her. Creating sounds that are indie rock goodness or just pain ole stellar pop, she’s found a way to consistently get into our ears no matter what she does. With her project Sad13 she’s definitely delivered plenty of songs that we couldn’t stop jamming. With her new album Haunted Painting coming in late September, her new single “Hysterical” is electronic gold and the video is just as engaging.

With electronic beats and synths, Dupuis’ vocals cut through the hypnotic gaze that the music creates. making your head bop between the creative notes, the chorus is so catchy without being sugary that you’re hooked as soon as it plays. The video featuring various open tabs feels about as current of a statement on pandemic life that it seems closer to a narrative than a music video.
