Earlier this year, Bristol’s Porridge Radio delivered a full length with Every Bad that had everyone excited. Aside from its critical acclaim, the overall tone of the release signaled a new sound within the confines of indie rock. Now the band have returned with a new stand alone single “7 Seconds.” With a bit more pop and shine, the new song showcases how diverse the British group can make their music.
With a more harmonic and catchy opening, the snap of the drums and the keys offer plenty of heft. When the guitar comes in it’s hearty while the vocals nod towards a more relaxed vibe. Offering hints at a disaffection in tone, the song has uplifting sounds. There’s plenty happening, yet it all works together while still popping and causing the listener to bop their head as it plays out.
“7 Seconds” is ready to stream on all services or to purchase in all digital outlets via Secretly Canadian. Every Bad is available in various formats directly from Secretly Canadian. Porridge Radio is scheduled to return to the road starting October 31 at London Calling Festival in Amsterdam, NL until November 03-06, 2021 at Icelandic Airwaves in Reykjavik, IS. Their tour dates are available here. Due to COVID-19, these dates could be subject to change.
