Will Butler Unleashes Raw Power on New Song

Will Butler really put it down when he released his last solo album Policy five years ago. While he’s known more for his role in Arcade Fire, Butler’s solo work is more diverse and intriguing than his bio may tell you. While his new solo album Generations will come next week, his new single “Bethlehem” is a raucous and energetically frenzied song. The video matches the energy of the track as well, while giving you a visual aspect to pair it with.

The interludes of electronics that mix with the highly amplified guitar distortion create a magnificent sound. Butler sounds refreshed and full of life here, his words falling between the compact tones and frenzied pace. The song is so quick and snappy that it almost lends itself to a more punk tone. Yet Butler finds a way to keep the ship on course while the video has an almost end of days look as a feast of all time gets prepared.

The video is ready to stream on YouTube or above. The song is available on all streaming platforms. Generations is ready to preorder ahead of its September 25 release from Merge Records.
