As far as artists go, few will enrapture you with their voice alone. While we’ve always been fans of Tomberlin, her vocals have always been what drew us most to her music. On her new single “Hours” she lets her vocals do the talking as she gears you up for her new EP Projections due in October.

The song has a wistful demeanor. With the vocals at the top of the mix, Tomberlin’s voice becomes your focus. While a strong suit to lead with, the instruments fall underneath to create a sound that’s like soft passes of breeze without sounding errant. The balance between the easy going stride of the song with the soft touches is graceful and elegant while still catchy and hard to forget.
