Atlas Vending, the new album by Canada’s METZ is coming with a force. Long awaited and ready to pounce, the pre-release singles so far have shown that the band came to drop the hammer and deliver heft with their noise punk sound. Their newest single “Blind Youth Industrial Park” is no exception to that, as it hits hard and doesn’t let up. Its video is just as heart pounding, proving METZ can’t do “relaxed” even if they tried.
The pounding drive of the track, sandwiched between swirls of noise infused riffs and pulsing rhythmic notes is heavy and intense. Reaching the bridge without killing your eardrums, the song has all of the signature of the trio’s sound without sounding rehashed. The vocals have a distanced note while the music hits with an immense signal. The video has just as heavy of a theme with a lone savior being hunted by soldiers before activating a powerful orb that lays their enemies to waste.
The video for “Blind Youth Industrial Park” can be watched above or on YouTube. The single is ready to listen to on all streaming platforms. Atlas Vending can be preordered from Sub Pop Records ahead of its October 09 release in various bundles and formats. METZ is set to perform from the Toronto Opera House for a global live-stream event October 15 for North America and October 17 for the rest of the world.
