Jeff Tweedy Offers Twangy New Single

Jeff Tweedy has been a busy guy this year. Between releases and a upcoming new book, a new solo album wasn’t what we were expecting. With that album Love Is The King, Tweedy has so far shown a reflective spirit. His new single “Gwendolyn” keeps that going while the video offers an all too familiar theme during these times.

There’s plenty of twang to get the song opened up. However once it gets going the track has a more happy-go-lucky stride. Tweedy sounds sincere and intimate here, keeping his vocals a bit quieted and letting the music be the olive branch. There’s this lovely Americana sound here, showing that Tweedy hasn’t forgotten the sounds that made early Wilco so memorable. The video offers the singer songwriter removing his face covering only for others to sing the song instead.

The video is ready to view above or on YouTube. The song can be heard on all streaming platforms. Love Is The King will be released digitally on October 23. You can preorder it physically directly from dBpm Records ahead of its January 15 release.
