Cut Worms Reveals Tom Petty Cover

Even though Cut Worms just released a double album with Nobody Lives Here Anymore, that doesn’t mean that Max Clarke is sitting on his hands. Yesterday to commemorate the seventieth birthday of Tom Petty, Cut Worms released a heartfelt cover of the Tom Petty classic “Louisiana Rain” that hits as hard as you’d expect.

Utilizing the folk based Americana tones of his sound, Clarke directs the energy into the twang and reverb based tones of the original. Hitting the highs and lows as needed, the song echoes the original while forging its own path. When the chorus hits the instruments come together among the vocals to offer a heavily instrumented version that stays with you well after you hear it.

The cover song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. Nobody Lives Here Anymore is ready to purchase on various formats directly from Jagjaguwar Records. It’s also available in digital outlets or to stream on all streaming platforms.
