Houston’s Khruangbin can’t seem to slow down. Between multiple releases of late including their latest full length Mordechai, the trio has no problem producing new music to groove to. Now after announcing a new Late Night Tales compilation featuring many Texas acts like Kelly Doyle and Geoffrey Muller, they’ve also released a cover of the Kool And The Gang track “Summer Madness.”

It may be hard to believe, but the Texas trio found a way to make the song more groovy. Echoing guitars and the thumpy bass meet up with the beat keeping drums to craft a sound that’s unmistakable. The run across the fret board of the guitar adds an Eastern element while opening the track up to do what the band does best-get us lost in the moment.

The cover song can be heard above or wherever you stream music. The Khruangbin Late Night Tales Compilation can be preordered on various formats from Late Night Tales ahead of its April 12 release. Khruangbin is set to appear at III Points in Miami, FL on April 30 through May 01 and at Outside Lands in San Francisco, CA on August 06 through 08.
