Melbourne’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is a band that knows no bounds. While it’s already been reported that they’ll release a new full length album K.G. and a new live album Live in San Francisco ’16, the band who can’t seem to not release a lot of things at once will also unveil a live film. The film is of the performance of the same live album, and it should be as wild as anything else the group does.
The black and white footage of the track “Evil Death Roll” from above is a multi-cam shot video. The fact that so many people can fit on one stage is one factor, the fact that they create such a rousing sound is something else entirely. The psych drenched tones and rhythmic elements of the band are in full frame here which means the film should be just as mesmerizing.
For “Automation,” the lead single off of K.G. has a real trippy and spaced out vibe. The Eastern tones and the rhythm here make the song stand out while the band utilizes group vocals to expand the sound. The hand claps make for a nice touch as the group furthers the path down the worm hole their music creates.
The concert film can be preordered directly from PHC Films ahead of its November 18 debut. Live in San Francisco 16′ is ready to preorder physically directly from ATO Records and K.G. can be preordered from Caroline Records both before their November 20 release date. Both albums will also be made available in digital formats from all online music retailers or to stream on November 20. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will be on tour starting June 02 at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain until October 24 at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. Their complete tour schedule is available here.
