Kiwi Jr. Reveals New Album and Shares Upbeat Lead Single

Back in September we wrote about Toronto’s Kiwi Jr. and their new song that showed up after they signed to Sub Pop Records. Catchy and full of life, their indie rock sound is as refreshing as it is likable. Now the four piece is back with a new album Cooler Returns announced for release in late January. To celebrate the news they’ve also released the title track “Cooler Returns” as well as another inventive new video.

The song begins with an almost post punk guitar tone while the vocals roll in with the same touches. Catchy and upbeat, the track delves deep into an easy going sound that’s almost anthemic from the way the chorus plays out. The video featuring the band performing in front of a horde of screaming fans gets reported by the news before the anchor begins to join the enthusiastic crowd in getting down.

The video is ready to watch above. The song is available to stream on all services. Cooler Returns can be preordered on various formats directly from Sub Pop Records ahead of its January 22 release.
