Time away from touring means that an artist like Phoebe Bridgers has been able to head feet first into her artistry. After releasing the nearly perfect album Punisher already, while also announcing a new label and doing a ton of livestreams it seems that it’s time to chill for the singer songwriter. However now she’s just revealed plans for a new E.P. Copycat Killer due next week. Remixes of four songs off Punisher, the first reveal from the release comes with a new version of the song “Kyoto.”
The four tracks off of the E.P. are as follows: “Kyoto,” “Savior Complex,” “Chinese Satellite” and “Punisher.” Redone in collaboration with arranger Rob Moose, the songs should delight any fan of her music. This version of “Kyoto” offers an orchestral tone with many added sounds and instrumentation. The visual of the lights dancing above is a great way to see the stringed instruments that you hear among her delicate voice. In many ways, it’s a great rework of already great work.
The video is ready to view above. The song can be streamed on all streaming sites. Copycat Killer is available digitally on November 20 via Dead Oceans or it can be preordered on an ultra limited vinyl directly from Rough Trade ahead of its November 27 release.
