Owen Releases Final Videos From Live Video Series

Chicago’s Mike Kinsella has performed under the name Owen for a long time after American Football first went away. With a slew of great releases, his latest album The Avalanche is his most realized since 2011’s Ghost Town. Now to offer up the songs in a new way, Kinsella has recorded live versions in various spots around the Windy City as part of his The Avalanche Live Series. He’s just revealed the final three in the video set and they’re pretty damn great.

Whether it be on a boat for the performance of “Wanting and Willing, at the beach for “Headphoned” or in his backyard for “I Go, Ego;” Kinsella feels perfectly balanced for these versions of the songs. Just a man with his guitar, his vocals soothe you as each song is performed. While each video is in a different setting, the organic and honest touches of the songs come out with each video as you relish more and more of the simple earnest sounds you experience.

The videos are ready to watch above or on a YouTube playlist located here. The Avalanche can be purchased physically or digitally directly from Polyvinyl Records. It’s also ready to stream wherever you stream music or to purchase digitally wherever you download it. Owen is scheduled to resume touring on April 21 in Leeds, UK at Brudenell Social Club until April 28 in Berlin, Germany at Badehaus Berlin. His complete tour schedule can be accessed here
