George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass” Gets Stereo Mix

It’s hard to believe that the George Harrison album All Things Must Pass is fifty years old. Harrison was in many ways the creative glue that kept The Beatles together, and his post-Beatles work is at the top of the heap, his work with the Traveling Wilburys was like no one else. To celebrate the album’s fifty year mark, his estate has overseen a stereo mix of the title song “All Things Must Pass” that offers more resonance to the song’s magic.

Here the piano and the brass are more pronounced as his vocals roll in soothingly. The slide pops and offers the gaze that made Harrion’s music so enjoyable. The way the horns pop between notes, the way the piano drives the stride and just how wondrous Harrison sounds here are all on full display where the stereo mix expands on the original version. Overseen and mixed by Paul Hicks, the song has new life breathed into it without mucking it up in the process.

The stereo mix is available to stream on all streaming sites or to purchase in all digital outlets via Universal Music Group.
