New Adult Books Single is Post Punk Magic

Los Angeles three piece Adult Books have always brought their post punk sound to their music with ease. Without falling into the trap of modern post punk bands that remind you more of Parquet Courts than originators like Wire, the trio just recently dropped a new single. On “holiday” the band offers up a sound that’s familiar without being boring while forcing anyone who hears the song to clamor for more music by the trio.

Beginning with snappy drums before the murky bass and the pedal driven guitars come in, the track has an immediacy that gets you to notice it when it starts. The upbeat pacing mixed with group vocals and hooks galore keeps it in your head. Treading a line between early new wave and post punk, the band keeps things original with how the song is represented while still holding on to the early tones that made up the genre. The vocals definitely take the song to new spaces and its catchy stride don’t hurt by any means.

“Holiday” is ready to stream on all streaming sites. The song can also be purchased in all digital music stores or from Bandcamp.
