Vagabon Taps Courtney Barnett on New Cover

Both Vagabon and Courtney Barnett bring plenty of heft to their music. The two artists both got some touring in before the pandemic hit and shuttered tours for what appears to be a little over a year. After performing together on Valentine’s Day last year, the two got together to record a cover song. The result is a beautiful rendition of the 1965 song “Reason To Believe” originally recorded by Tim Hardin. Though the Karen Dalton cover of the track is more recognizable, this version may be the one that fans flock to in the future.

The swaying of the pedal steel sets the stage for the vocals to start in. Vagabon sounds wonderful before Barnett comes in to harmonize with her and lifts the track up. The two artists go well together both musically and harmonically. The sounds of both together offer a sound that’s hard to deny while their version of the song stays with you well after you hear it. Honest and intimate, it’s the version we’ll refer to in the future for sure.

The cover is available to hear above or wherever you stream music. The song is also available for purchase in all digital music store fronts.
