Gary Numan made a name for himself when he scored the hit song “Cars” off of his album The Pleasure Principle. While that was over forty years ago, the legendary artist has never really stopped making music. While his last album Savage: Songs From a Broken World was about how we treat the earth, his newly announced album Intruder looks at global warming through the eyes of the planet itself. To mark the announcement of the album Numan has released the title track alongside a new video that will get your attention.
The imagery of the video is dark in its presentation. Mixing segments of earth with Numan, the clip offers the performer in a new way. The song has an industrial edge in its sound. Mixing the keys in the new wave way that Numan is known for, his vocals fall underneath the harsh tones before the song creeps its way into heavier territory where Numan shines.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. The song is ready to stream on all streaming sites. Intruder is ready to preorder directly from Numan’s web store here before its May 21 release.
