Tex Crick Announces Debut Album & Shares First Single

It’s okay if you’ve never heard the name Tex Crick before. The Australian singer songwriter is a name that wasn’t familiar to us before we were introduced to him. Once a piano repairman, it shouldn’t be difficult to know that his main instrument is his voice while accompanied by piano. With his debut full length Live in…New York City announced for release in late March, his lead single “Sometimes I Forget” off of the not actually live album should keep his name in your head.

The song opens with an easy going piano before Crick comes in and sets the stage for the seventies sounding a.m. radio vibes. Like bits of yacht rock mixed with adult contemporary, Crick draws you in with his dual vocals and his happy-go-lucky tone. The song flows easily and has a chill demeanor that stays with you. The honest sound and the throwback pacing draw your attention in a good way while reminding you of a simpler time. The imagery of the video has a sunny disposition full of happiness in the light of dusk.

The video can be seen above or on YouTube. The song is ready to stream on all streaming platforms. The album can be preordered directly from Mac’s Record Label ahead of its March 26 release date.
