Al Riggs isn’t a household name in many circles. However with a slew of releases ranging from 2016, the North Carolina artist has skimmed the edges of folk and singer songwriter tones for a while. Now with a new album I Got A Big Electric Fan To Keep Me Cool While I Sleep announced for release in April, their new single “America’s Pencil” may make them a household name fast.

The song has a nice distorted guitar that plays well with the piano underneath Riggs’ vocals. The way the two instruments clash while Riggs sings out with conviction and earnestness stays with you. The keys dance while the guitar screams and Riggs’ voice falls somewhere in-between like you want.
