Philadelphia’s Spirit of the Beehive has always offered a varying tonal quality within their ever evolving sound. Somewhere between indie rock and electronica based noise, they’ve never disappointed in terms of creativity. Now part of the Saddle Creek Records family, they’ve just announced a new album Entertainment, Death coming in April. To celebrate they’ve dropped a new song “There’s Nothing You Can’t Do” and just as intriguing of a video.
The droning tonal qualities that strike a chord between changing channels in sound open things up. As vocals play out underneath a detuned sound, an almost cyber punk distortion plays through a sheen. The song is varied between genres for a bit until it settles into a more focused direction. There’s a lot occurring on the song made only more intriguing by the accompanying video. Featuring someone taking pills and entering a dreamscape of future voids, the video is as stark as the song.
The video is ready to stream above. The single can be listened to wherever you stream music. Entertainment, Death can be preordered directly from Saddle Creek Records ahead of its April 09 release.
