Chicago’s Floatie Delivers New Single & Debut Album Details

There’s a good chance that you’ve never heard the music of Chicago’s Floatie. While that’s a thing unto itself, we’ve found that the band creates a quirky sonic landscape in how their music is arranged. The result is a delightful and radiant tone that grabs your ears immediately and never lets go. With their debut album Voyage Out set for release in late March, their new single “Catch a Good Worm” should peak your interests from the jump.

The rhythmic qualities between the drums, guitar and bass gets cut by the vocals. It’s not a deterrent but rather an infusion of the song. Pulling from the quirky tonal qualities of bands like Jesus Lizard and June of 44, the band crafts their music differently than many bands. However that marker makes for a refreshing and eviscerate listening experience. The song is catchy in its own way without steering into a pop structure. Their incredibly tight playing blends well for listeners as well.

“Catch a Good Worm” can be heard above or wherever you stream music. Voyage Out is available for preorder directly from Exploding In Sound Records ahead of its March 26 release.
