Behind his new album Two Saviors, Big Thief’s Buck Meek has forged more of a new path forward. Embracing himself in his sound that utilizes southern charm and plucky arrangements, the album if filled with songs that burrow into your sole. Of the songs that make up the album, the track “Halo Light” is one of the more engaging. With its open ended tone, his new video captures the recording process of the actual capturing of the recording that made it on to the album.
The video takes place in a house flanked with musicians discovering the key of the song before it gets counted off. Much like the album Meek sounds in the moment here. His finger technique on the acoustic on full display while his southern dipped vocals ring out among the guitars and minimalist drums. The delicate balance between the instruments and the relaxed setting embodies so much of what Meek’s music sounds like. Just an air rolling through a sunlit room surrounded by instruments and an angelic tone.
The video is available to stream above. “Halo Light” can be heard wherever you stream music. Two Saviors is available for purchase directly from Keeled Scales. It’s also available on all streaming platforms or it can be purchased in all digital outlets.
