Smerz Reveals New Single Before Album Release Friday

Norwegian electronic duo Smerz have no issue creating intriguing music. Their experimental pop sounds have always carried an engaging depth while still evoking enough bop to hold your attention. With their debut album Believer dropping this Friday they’ve released one more song “Flashing.” Along with a new video, the song will stay with you well after you hear it.

The song has a real dispersed feel. The synth driven tones get met with stunning vocals that pull you in with earnest sounds and a hint of auto tune. When these harmonic strings come in they steer the song more into the alt pop realm the group is known for while keeping it all interesting. The video featuring flashes of a member of the duo in her car fit perfectly with the bouncing vibe of the song.

The video is ready to stream above. The song is ready to stream on all streaming sites. Believer is available for preorder from XL Recordings before its February 26 release. Smerz will be performing via livestream on Bandcamp on March 20. They will also appear at Vega in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 30.
