Flock Of Dimes, the project by Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak has already delivered more than enough engaging music. With a new album Head of Roses coming in early April, Wasner continues to impress with the singles she reveals. On her latest release “Price of Blue” she digs deep and takes you on the journey through a sound as immense as it is engaging.
The video shot in black and white immortalizes the song’s deep impressions. The squealing guitar that opens the song up gets met with Wasner’s voice that mixes perfectly within the instrumentation. Feeling a bit more singer songwriter than previous drops, the track has a weight that encapsulates you. The vocals flow and rise above the music, there’s a heft here that’s more immersive too. The touches of southern charm, the power within the music and the organic hooks keep the track in your head well after you hear it while the video keeps it in your head as well. Allowing the vocals to intertwine between the instruments creates a soun that’s difficult to shake while encompassing so much in its run time.
The video can be viewed above or on YouTube. “Price of Blue” can be streamed wherever you stream music. Head of Roses is available for preorder on various formats from Sub Pop Records before its April 02 release.
