Kero Kero Bonito Announce New EP & Share Lead Single

Alt Pop trio Kero Kero Bonito got big quick after the release of their album Time ‘n’ Place. Since then we’ve watched the group reveal more and more music including the EP Civilisation I. Now in the new year the three piece is back with the announcement of Civilisation II. Coming in April, the three song release will see the band utilizing vintage synthesizers to craft their brand of infectious pop. To celebrate the announcement the band has shared a new song “The Princess and the Clock” as well as a video animated by Dan W. Jacobs.

The song opens with an upbeat sound. Snappy and quick, the vocals come in and display an airy presence. When the vocals and the synths mix together they hone in on this electro-pop gem. The song sticks in your head while holding eighties pop touches. In ways the music reminds you of Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode when they were in their prime without lifting in any way. The video features beautiful animation that tells an enigmatic tale that goes along perfectly with the song itself.

The video can be viewed above. “The Princess and the Clock” can be heard on all streaming platforms. Civilisation II can be preordered directly from Polyvinyl Records ahead of its April 21 release.
