Waxahatchee Drops Three Covers From Deluxe Album

This time last year Waxahatchee was delivering her latest album Saint Cloud in a time when most of us didn’t know what tomorrow would bring. The album, singer songwriter Katie Crutchfield’s best to date offered up her Southern charm in a backdrop of well arranged music that showcased her strengths as a modern artist. Now as the album hits the one year mark, Crutchfield has offered up Saint Cloud+3 which includes the original album alongside three cover songs. Those covers include the Lucinda Williams song “Fruits of My Labor,” the Dolly Parton track “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” and the Bruce Springsteen song “Streets of Philadelphia.” While we found ourselves partial to all three renditions, they can be streamed below individually.

All three covers can be heard above or wherever you stream music. Saint Cloud is available to purchase in multiple formats including digitally as the Saint Cloud+3 version directly from Merge Records. Waxahatchee is scheduled to return to touring beginning September 09 at Codfish Hollow Barnstormers in Maquoketa, IA until November 01 at Off Broadway in Saint Louis, MO. Her complete tour dates can be located here.

David Garrick

David Garrick has spent the last five years interviewing some of the most intriguing and engaging artists performing today. Everyone from Angel Olsen to Phoebe Bridgers, Wire to Yo La Tengo, Snail Mail to Soccer Mommy, Ghost to First Aid Kit, The Breeders to Protomartyr, and many more. He's a giant fan of music of pretty much any genre; but especially to the underdogs. He's been known to see more concerts in a week than many people will see in a year.
