California’s Deftones have always done things with a hint of grand structure behind their chunky riffs. On the heels of their latest release Ohms, the band is set to embark on a headlining tour this Summer that will see them on stages across the U.S. The band has released a new video for the track “Ceremony” directed by Leigh Wannell, director of the film The Invisible Man, and it’s stunning to behold.
The video has a real cinematic view to it. Featuring a woman working her charm to enter a club, her ability to go into spaces forbidden reveals a world of underbelly incantations. The risks involved within these situations lends towards deeper and deeper situations that reveal darker outcomes. The path leads to a haunting experience that ends with pain. The song matches perfectly with the video that’s shot in a way that doesn’t feel like a music video.
The video for “Ceremony” can be viewed above or on YouTube. Ohms is available to purchase on various formats and bundles from Warner Records. It can also be streamed on all services or purchased in all digital music stores. Deftones will be on tour beginning August 12 in Minneapolis, MN at Armory until September 22 in Portland, OR at Moda Center. Their complete tour schedule can be accessed here.
