Danny Lee Blackwell of Night Beats is driving hard towards his new album Outlaw R&B. The band has made their name in psych rock circles for years and the new album should prove to be an interesting turn in terms of sound. While the album is out in early June, their new single “Hell In Texas” offers plenty of swagger in its sound while the lyric video for the song is straight forward.
The cowboy induced spaghetti western tones of the song come on in full force. Along with a pedal soaked tone that strolls on and off of the song, the track is catchy in its slow roll. The vocals sound a bit distanced while adding to the song’s charm. The swagger of the song feels right as this tale gets told in a way that draws your attention from start to finish. The backing vocals add to the song giving it more weight while the hooks are in the way the song plays out.
The lyric video can be watched above. “Hell In Texas” can be heard on all streaming platforms. Outlaw R&B is available to preorder on various formats directly from Fuzz Club Records before its June 04 release.
